My translation process is designed for quality.

When you have multiple files that need to be translated consistently, or documents that need to be updated over time, it can help to prepare the ground before the actual translation process even begins. Running additional QA checks on the final document is another important step for optimal quality.

I offer the following services, independently or as a full package:

 

 

Source text review

You are the expert in what you do and you have an important message to communicate. Unfortunately, even the brightest ideas can be hard to translate when language gets in the way. I can review your documents before translation even begins to hunt for any inconsistencies, ambiguities and cultural pitfalls that will obscure your message. This will pave the way for higher quality translations. I always strive to clarify any issues during the translation process, but this additional pre-translation review step can save you time in the long run.

 

Glossary, Style Guide

You know your product well and may use highly technical language to describe it. If translated incorrectly, there could be a great deal of confusion — or worse. You might want the translations to reflect your own style and terminology, or those of your in-country colleagues. In my experience as a translator, preparing the ground by building a glossary and/or a style guide in collaboration with your in-house experts can yield higher quality translations, with greater consistency and better outcomes, saving you extra rounds of revisions.

 

Translation and Editing

You put a lot of care in preparing your documents and online materials. After all, they establish your credibility in your field — and patient lives might be at stake. Entrust your documents to a translator who speaks your language, and that of your clients in the target country. My translation process includes researching terminology, clarifying inconsistencies, harmonizing terms and style, and proofreading carefully. When the highest possible quality is necessary, I offer an option that includes editing by a trusted colleague. In addition, I’m also happy to edit your previously translated documents, which you might consider if your current translator is not a specialist in cancer.

 
 

Quality Assurance

Your designers work wonders in making your materials look professional and engaging, but they may not know the target language very well — if at all. Don’t risk publishing your translated documents or online content without a final review by a detail-oriented native speaker who will be able to see if anything has been cut off, if target-language typographic rules have been broken or if the captions don’t match your images. I have ample experience in quality assurance for various types of documents, from printed materials to online courses and videos, and I can help you avoid redos due to transfer errors at the DTP stage.
